And the Feathers Are Flying! - West End Eagles Thunder, Akecheta, Koa, Treasure & Sterling (5/20)
These three eaglets surely know how to end the day in style. This has been the near-dusk routine for the last few days - utter flaptacular madness as the wings get going! Fun to see all those lingering white downy feathers flying around when the wings get to flappin'!
Viewers need not worry (as much as we ALL do anyway). Contrary to how it appears, this nest is only about 10 feet off the ground!! These eaglets are also old enough to almost definitely get enough wing action to at least soften a fall - if not fully take flight.
One thing's for sure - these babies are very eager to fly!

    Irv is such a good dad, even in all that rain still managed to bring in a big fish! Lucky is too big now to even get under Claire but doesn't stop her from trying, lol!! At least her head can be covered!!! Thank you Wings!!

    This video was so cool to watch. I don’t know which Eaglwt it is but, that one just loves to jump up onto that branch and go as high as he/she can go while the other juwt wants to lay in the nest and chill out and maybe either snooze or watch its sibling go up and down the limb. Thanks Whimsy for the video. I’m a bit behind on a lot of videos that I have been sent to by other cams too. These two sure are growing so big and it seems to me too (correct me if I’m wrong) but, one looks like it’s either a real dark brown or black Eaglet while the other is definitely a brown Eaglet.     So glad these two made it! My first nest that I viewed from baby to fledge. They have great parents who gave them everything they needed to successfully fledge, but I was still a bit wary of the nest construction and all the storms!

    Sharon Shneyer, Wings you do an amazing job with the way you put together your videos. What you just wrote about Swampy and Meadow was very heartfelt. I am sure I watched the video on Meadow and probably even saved it, but knowing me, I will probably end up doing the same thing again. Please stay as safe and well as you can. Wings I just read the whole story which I hadn't previously. Since Meadow was euthanized, if I am not being rude, where was she taken to, and were they able to determine the case of her illness? Thank you. Sharon WINGS, Are The Closeups Of Meadow? They are very beautiful and reminds me of the closeups of E23 From The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam. I know eagles have to go on their journey to become the magnificent creatures that they were hatched to be, but it still hurts at the end of the season regardless.

      Thank you so much! I don't know what happened after Meadow was euthanized. No additional updates were ever given. The close-ups near the end are Swampy. I truly enjoyed this nest this season - still miss watching Swampy & Meadow interacting.
